Where and when is the wedding?
You will receive a wedding invitation in the mail with all of the details, however for planning purposes the wedding will be held on February 27, 2026, in Playa del Carmen Mexico
How do I RSVP?
Your resort reservation will act as your RSVP to our wedding.
Please note that the RSVP deadline is May 16, 2025. We encourage you to book early to ensure availability. For your convenience, you can complete your reservation directly through our website!
I’m excited to attend, what do I do next?
Visit the “Join Us- Book Here” section of our website to secure your accommodations! Once your room is reserved and the deposit is received, your reservation will serve as your RSVP to our wedding. We can’t wait to know you’ll be celebrating with us!
Tell me about the resort?
We have chosen the beautiful all-inclusive Fives Beach Resort to exchange our vows! The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences is a spacious family resort, located on Riviera Maya just about 10 minutes from downtown Playa del Carmen Mexico. Take a look at their website, so you can get as excited as we are!
What does all-inclusive actually include?
When you book your room through our reserved block, your reservation includes accommodations, round-trip transportation between the airport and the resort, all meals at a variety of gourmet hotel restaurants, unlimited beverages and snacks, access to recreational activities within the resort, and so much more.
Why is it important to book via our website/into our block of rooms?
We chose a destination wedding because we want to spend quality time with the people that mean the most to us. Because of this desire we kindly ask our guests to book rooms here on our wedding website, into our room block and stay at the resort along with us and the rest of our friends and family. This will ensure all guests are counted on our official wedding guest list.
Guests staying at a different resort are called “outside guests.” and due to the “all inclusive” nature of the resort, may not be able to attend the wedding, or could incur additional charges of up to $200/person to enter the resort for the wedding events only (not to mention strict entry and departure times are followed.) Please do not book an outside resort without checking with the us to see if you would be allowed to attend the wedding events.
Is airfare included in my accommodations?
While the Romance Travel Group is helping with resort accommodations bookings, flight arrangements are not included. You’re welcome to book your flight with your airline of choice. Please fly into Cancun International Airport when making your reservations.
What is not included in “all-inclusive”?
You’ll want to bring a bundle of 1’s and 5’s with for tipping around the resort. Gratuities are technically included with your travel package, but based on the experience of our travel manager, you’ll want to tip something small to the bartenders and waiters taking care of you. Be prepared by bringing small bills with so you have them if you choose to tip. The shuttle driver is not a hotel employee and will expect a tip, as will the airport employees. Tours, excursions and spa treatments are not included. You can pay with cash or credit card for these at the hotel. Again, US cash for tips is fine. Insurance is not included, but it is optional when booking your trip. All liquor is usually included unless you order a full bottle of a specific liquor.
Will I have access to local excursions?
Absolutely! Although excursions are an additional fee the resort has an experienced agency to help you with local tours and experiences in the Riviera Maya, where you can explore pyramids, go diving, snorkeling, or more
What are the recommended travel dates?
We have negotiated recommended travel dates between February 24, 2026 thru March 1, to enjoy the festivities. You do not need to stay for this whole block of time, however, our contracted room blocks are for a minimum stay of 3 nights.
What airport should I fly into?
The closest airport is Cancún International Airport (CUN), which is about a 45-minute drive from The Fives Beach Resort.
Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?
Yes, a valid passport is required for all travelers entering Mexico. Please ensure your passport is up to date and does not expire within six months of travel.
What currency is used in Mexico, and should I exchange currency?
The currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN), but US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas. We recommend carrying small denominations for tips and shopping.
Are there any travel tips or precautions I should know about?
Playa Del Carmen/Riviera Maya is a popular tourist destination, but it’s always good to exercise caution. Keep your belongings secure, drink bottled water and apply sunscreen generously! Travel insurance is available, and you may want to discuss the cost/coverage with our group manager.
Can I bring Children?
Yes, the resort is family friendly, and your children will be included on your invitation. They will have a blast. Just make sure to add them to your reservation and secure a passport. You’ll not only bless us by attending our wedding but also have a beautiful family vacation.
Can I bring a guest/plus one?
We’re so excited to have you celebrate with us at our destination wedding! Due to limited space, we’re unable to accommodate guests for the wedding event. If you received a guest invitation it will be listed on your invitation. We truly hope you understand, and we look forward to celebrating with you.
What should I wear to the wedding?
The dress code is casual elegance—think cocktail attire with a relaxed, beach-resort vibe.
For men, we recommend dress pants a collared shirt, and nice shoes. Please avoid shorts, t-shirts, or casual sandals. For women, stylish skirts, tops, jumpsuits, or dresses are all great options. While dressy sandals are acceptable we encourage choosing footwear that leans on the formal side.
And don’t worry—although the venue has a beachy feel, we’re not saying “I do” on the sand!
What will the weather be like?
February is one of the best times to visit Playa Del Carmen, with warm days and comfortable evenings. Expect temperatures around 75–85°F (24–29°C).
Is there a gift registry?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you wish to give a gift, we are creating a registry that will soon be available on our website for your convenience. Should you decide to send a gift, we kindly ask that it be shipped directly to our home rather than brought to Mexico, as we won’t be able to bring additional items back with us.”
Who do I contact if I have additional questions?
Feel free to reach out to our travel manager Heather, directly and she’ll be happy to assist! You can reach her here, [email protected] or by phone at 507-237-6156
